Lockout / Tagout

Course Format: The course format includes, four (4) hours of classroom instruction with the visual aid of a power point presentation and a DVD.

Course Objectives: Lockout/Tagout training shall enable participants to recognize energy hazards associated with each type of machinery, piece of equipment, or process, and when the machinery, equipment, or process must be locked out. The course focuses on the safe work practices and procedures necessary to prevent accidents caused by unexpected movement of machinery and hazardous energy sources.

Who should receive Lockout Tagout Training in Canada? CSA Z460 Control of hazardous energy – Lockout and other methods: The user shall provide initial training that will ensure that all authorized individuals understand the purpose and function of the control program to an extent appropriate for the level of hazard exposure they will possibly encounter.
